Abronia Smithi

Abronia smithi is a name used for a distinctive arboreal lizard in the alligator lizard group. Before purchasing, confirm the scientific identification with the seller, as similar names can cause confusion in the reptile trade.

Abronia smithi Highlights

• Scientific Name: Abronia smithi — confirm the identification with the seller.
• Lifestyle: Arboreal; suitable housing should provide climbing opportunities.
• Habitat Needs: Requires carefully managed temperature, humidity, ventilation, and shelter.

Care Requirements

Provide a secure, vertically oriented enclosure with sturdy branches, dense foliage, hiding places, and appropriate environmental conditions. Avoid assuming that care requirements for another Abronia species will be identical.

Some Abronia species have conservation protections and strict wildlife-trade requirements. Verify the species’ accepted scientific name, legal status, origin, and required permits before purchasing. Do not acquire a wild-caught animal without appropriate documentation.
